Supporting the Community

Members of the State Emergency Service (SES) play a significant and vital role in helping to ensure that the community is a safe place in which to work, live and play.
They serve the community on a voluntary basis by providing a commitment in operational and non-operational roles (eg. administration). Who Can Join Membership of the SES is open to both sexes and whilst a reasonable degree of physical fitness is required in certain circumstances for field operations, positions can be found to suit most applicants. The SES accepts members from the age of 14 years.
